博士(后),上海师范大学二级教授,三峡大学特聘教授,博士生导师,博士后合作导师,外国文学研究中心主任,比较文学与世界文学国家重点学科负责人,上海市“世界文学多样性与文明互鉴”创新团队负责人,国家重大项目“非洲英语文学史”和国家重点项目“当代汉学家中国文学英译的策略与问题”首席专家,针对国内外的非洲文学研究,提出“三大流散”理论和“非洲性”理论,“中国非洲文学学”的创立者;针对国内外的外国文学研究,提出“非主流文学”理论,针对我国的外国文学翻译,提出“相似性”理论,针对中国文学文化的对外传播,提出“归异平衡”理论;主要从事翻译学、英语文学文化、中外小说美学比较和中外文学文化关系研究。
完成或主持国家重大项目、重点项目、后期资助项目等国家课题6项,其他科研项目十几种,在《中国社会科学》(中英文共三篇)《文学评论》《外国文学评论》《文史哲》《中国翻译》、ANQ国内外等重要杂志和《人民日报》《光明日报》《解放日报》《文汇报》《中国社会科学报》《社会科学报》《文艺报》和《文学报》等重要报纸发表学术论文和时评400多篇,出版中英文著作20多种,译著和编著100多种,获得“第八届高等学校科学研究优秀成果人文社会科学”一等奖(合作)、三次上海市哲学社会科学优秀成果奖、全国宝钢教育基金“优秀教师奖”和首届上海高教精品教材奖等各类奖项30多种。

Profile of Professor ZHU Zhenwu
Dr. Zhu Zhenwu is a senior professor and doctoral supervisor at Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) and Distinguished Professor of Three Gorges University. He is currently the head of the Key National Disciplines of Comparative Literature and World Literature, director of Foreign Literature Research Center of SHNU, and head of Shanghai World Literature Diversity and Civilization Mutual Learning Innovation Team. At present, he is presiding over the national major research project titled “History of English Literature in Africa” and national key project titled “Problems and Strategies of Contemporary sinologists in English Translations of Chinese Literature”. He is the founder of Chinese African Literaturology. He puts forward varied theories on “Three Diasporic Literature” and “Africanity” according to African studies at home and abroad, “Pan English Literature” to foreign literature studies, “Similarity” to domestic translation of foreign literature as well as the “Balance of Domestication and Foreignization” to international communication of Chinese literature and culture.
His main research interests include translatology, English literature and culture, aesthetic comparison of Chinse and foreign novels, and relationships between Chinese and foreign literature and culture. He has completed and presided over 6 national projects including national major projects, key projects and post-funded projects as well as other 10 more projects. Also, he has published more than 400 academic papers in important journals and newspapers such as Social Sciences in China, Literary Review, Foreign Literary Review, Chinese Translators Journal, ANQ and People’s Daily, Jiefang Daily, Guangming Daily, and Wenhui Daily, and authored 20 works as well as over 100 compiled or translated works in Chinese and English.
Besides, he has obtained more than 30 kinds of awards, such as “The First Prize of the Eighth Outstanding Achievements in Scientific Research in Colleges and Universities”. the “Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science Achievement Awards” for three times, and the “National Outstanding Teacher Award sponsored by the Baosteel Education Fund” and “Shanghai Outstanding Textbooks Award”, etc. Apart from that, he is also a member of China Writers Association, the president of the Novel Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for the Comparative Study of Chinese and Foreign Languages and Cultures, vice president of the China Association for the Comparative Study of Chinese and African Languages and Cultures, vice president of the China’s Cognitive Translation Research Association, deputy secretary general of the China’s Foreign Literature Society, and distinguished professor of Peking University and Inner Mongolia Minzu University, etc.
He is the main translator of Dan Brown’s series of novels such as The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, Digital Fortress, Deception Point and The Lost Symbol, which arouse positive responses at home and abroad. Such media as CCTV, Phoenix Satellite TV and other mainstream media reported his success in research on, translation and teaching of Chinese and foreign literature and cultures.
